The Orang National Park is well-known for its one-horned rhinos and tigers. It is also referred to as a "little Kaziranga."
Orang National Park is Assam's smallest national park, covering only 79 square kilometers.
The Kaziranga National Park requires two full days to explore: one day for Jeep Safari and the second day for Elephant Safari, plus a local visit to a tea garden or a biodiversity area.
Both are viable options for experiencing the actual remoteness of Kaziranga National Park. Elephant safari allows you to see rhinos up close and without any fuss. Rhinos can only be seen from a distance on a Jeep Safari.
Kaziranga National Park is well-known for its big five mammals, which include Indian rhinos, Asian elephants, Royal Bengal tigers, swamp deer, water buffalo, and uncommon birds.
The feral horses are peculiar to this area. These are the offspring of domestic horses abandoned by soldiers during the World Wars. They thrived and survived in the bush, and subsequent generations became wild horses. We were unable to reach them due to a lack of time. Besides them, you'll observe a variety of birds and, of course, river dolphins.
Winters are easy to traverse and see migratory birds. However, for mammal sightings, the monsoon is preferable because it forces them to emerge from the interiors owing to floods.
Namdapha National Park is well-known for its leopards and tigers.
Arunachal Pradesh has two national parks.
It serves as the entry point to the three tea-growing areas of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and Sivasagar. These three areas account for nearly 50% of India's Assam tea crop, which gives Dibrugarh its rightfully earned sobriquet as the "Tea City of India."
