How to go about Guwahati - Transportation, Money, Climate, and so forth.

Money -  the Indian Rupee is used across North East India.

Timezones - While North East India should theoretically be in a separate timezone due to the latitude difference, it remains in the same timezone as the rest of India. Thus, in the winter, plan on it being dark around 4 p.m. every day.

Language - The language barrier might be a significant issue in this situation. Because English is not frequently spoken, you may have difficulty communicating with taxi and rickshaw drivers. Guwahati's population speaks Assamese and a variety of local dialects. Hindi is well-known and extensively spoken.

What language do the Shillong people speak?

The most often used language in Shillong is English. By this, I mean the language most commonly used in schools, workplaces, large markets, and health facilities. Khasi is the second most widely spoken language. It's a regional language, btw. Other regional languages include Mizo, Pnar, Nepali, Assamese, and, of course, Hindi.
