In Nagaland, a celebration honouring hornbills is held throughout the winter. The capital city of Kohima experiences a chill throughout the festival. The weather in Dimapur is lovely. Warm, cosy, and simple to clean clothing is advised in the winter.
Traditional archery, Naga wrestling, native games, other sports, and other pursuits are popular. A notable highlight of the Hornbill Festival is the Hornbill International Rock Festival. At Indira Gandhi Stadium, numerous regional and worldwide rock bands perform.
Western Safari Zone, Bagori Kaziranga - The western zone is the most popular tourist area in Kaziranga for elephant safaris since the area's terrain makes it possible to see one-horned rhinos up close.
November through April are the ideal months to visit Kaziranga.
Nonetheless, it's best to refrain from riding elephants. Because of the mistreatment elephants endure when they are trained to carry people, as well as safety issues, groups in the US, such as the Humane Society of the US and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, are against riding elephants.
Every year, from May 1 to October 31, Kaziranga Park is off-limits to visitors. Consequently, the ideal season to explore Kaziranga National Park is from November to April.
