We depart early in the morning for a full-day Jeep safari into the Manas National Park, complete with a packed breakfast. The Assam roofed turtle, hispid hare, golden langur, and pygmy hog are among the park's uncommon and endangered endemic animals. Manas National Park is well-known for its wild water buffalo population. The park is a birdwatcher's heaven. Return to the hotel in the evening. Stay at a hotel for the night.
Drive to Shillong, often known as "Scotland of the East," after breakfast. See the magnificent Umium Lake (Barapani). Water sports are available here (Optional). After you arrive in Shillong, check into your accommodation. In the evening, you can go to Police Bazaar, the largest local market. Stay in Shillong for the night.
Get up early today to enjoy Shillong's captivating mornings. After an early breakfast, head to Cherrapunji, the world's wettest spot. Eco Park, Dainthlen Waterfall, Nohkalikai Falls, Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), Mawsmai Cave, and Thangkharang Park are also worth seeing. Return to Shillong in the evening. For stunning vistas, go to Elephanta Falls and Shillong Peak. Stay in Shillong for the night.
Following breakfast, go to Mawlynnong Village, India's cleanest village. This charming and colourful community is well-known for its cleanliness. It is 90 kilometres from Shillong and, in addition to the charming village, has numerous unique sites such as the Living Root Bridge and another strange natural occurrence of a boulder balancing on another rock. Pay a visit to Dawki. It is located near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The Umgnot River's crystal clear waters are ideal for boating. We shall return to Shillong in the evening. Shillong is where you'll spend the night.
Today, after breakfast, visit the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Traditions, Ward's Lake for boating, the Cathedral Catholic Church, and Lady Hydari Park. Continue on to Guwahati. Arrive at the hotel and check in. Visit Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, which displays Assamese history and culture. You may also learn about the history of Assamese cinema at the Assam Film Museum. Visit GTAC Tea Room for a cup of the finest Assam Tea and to take some home. Organic, CTC, Orthodox, Green Tea, White Tea, Purple Tea, and more high-quality teas are available here. You can take a River Cruise (Direct Payment) on the majestic River Brahmaputra in the evening. You might also go to the neighbourhood market. Assam is well-known for its Assam Silk, particularly Golden Muga Silk, as well as Assam Tea, Bamboo, and Cane Goods. Stay in Guwahati for the night.
Check out of the motel after breakfast. As time allows, we may visit the Kamakhya Temple and other temples in Guwahati, including the Purva Tirupati Shri Balaji Temple, Sukreswar Temple, Navagraha Temple, Umananda Temple on Peacock Island, the world's smallest inhabited river island, the Assam State Museum, Dighali Pukhuri (Lake), State Zoo, Botanical Garden, Planetarium, and the Assam State Emporiums. Go to Guwahati airport/railway station for onward travel with unforgettable experiences.
Manas National Park is best visited between November and April, when it is not too cold and there are no rains.
The closest airport is Guwahati, which is about 160 kilometres away from the park.
Aside from the famed Jeep and Elephant Safari, other activities such as river rafting and visiting tea farms in local villages are available.
The park has very few hotels, but you may always stay in the lodges, which provide the same nice stay as the hotels.
The Jeep is the standard mode of transportation for the safaris, but you may also charter a private jeep if you wish to experience it in a different way. You can also rent bikes if you want to explore the area on your own or enjoy the dawn or sunset.
