Tour's Location

Delhi – Darjeeling – Phalut – Rammam – Rimbik – Pelling – Yuksom – Martam – Gangtok – Delhi

How to get to DARJEELING and YUKSAM?

BAGDOGRA AIRPORT is the closest airport to both Darjeeling and Yuksam. Sikkim also has its own airport, which is located in Pakyong. To reach Darjeeling, fly to Bagdogra Airport, and to reach Yuksam, fly to either Bagdogra or Pakyong Airport. Darjeeling is a three to four-hour drive from Bagdogra Airport. Yuksam is a 6-hour drive from Pakyong and a 7- to 8-hour drive from Bagdogra International Airport.

Can I exit YUKSAM directly on the last day of the Trek?

Yes, if you need to get to another location near Yuksam or if it is extremely urgent and necessary. It is not advisable to drive directly to the airport or railway station after the trek.

We advise against leaving Yuksam immediately after the last day of the trek because it will be too exhausting and hectic. Driving at night on the Himalayan road is not a pleasant or enjoyable experience.

The earliest you will arrive in Yuksam on the final day of the trek is around 1 pm, so a long drive afterwards is not possible.

Can I leave extra bags at Yuksam and collect them on the last day of the trek?

Yes, you can store a bag of clothes in Yuksam and retrieve it after the trek. In fact, we recommend leaving one set of clothing at Yuksam for the last day of the trek because pack animals typically arrive late on the last day of the trek.

You can even leave valuables and cash at our office and pick them up after the journey.

What documents need to be carried?

Identification documents such as VOTER ID CARD, DRIVING LICENSE, AADHAR CARD, and INDIAN PASSPORT are required for Indian trekkers. Original documents must be carried, as well as four (4) PASSPORT SIZE photographs.

Foreigners must have an INDIAN VISA, PASSPORT, and SIKKIM INNER LINE PERMIT, as well as four passport-sized photographs.

A medical fitness certificate is also required, but this can be arranged at Yuksam if you are unable to bring it.

Can we connect during the trek?

During the Sikkim Darjeeling Kanchendzonga trek, there is no phone service. Darjeeling, Maneybhanjyang, and Yuksam are the final villages with phone and internet service.
Vodafone, Airtel, and Jio networks are available between Maneybhanjyang and Chitre, and Yuksam and Tshoka. If the weather is good, you can even obtain a phone network near Tshoka and Phedang.
Once you pass through Maneybhanjyang and Yuksam, there is no electricity on the Sikkim Darjeeling Kanchendzonga trek. Solar lights are available at tea houses and lodges on the Sandhakphu side walk.

What will the weather and temperature be like during the trek?

The Sikkim Darjeeling Kanchendzonga Trek has two separate seasons. mid-March, April to May (spring), and October to November (autumn). The weather is normally fine and clear at such times, but there is no assurance because the weather in our Himalayas is quite unpredictable and can change within hours or days.

Is the food safe?

When visiting a foreign nation, food safety is always a major issue. As a result, we make every effort to select hotels/lodges and restaurants with clean and sanitary kitchens. On our hikes, we give an experienced and sanitary cook to create safe and delectable meals using our own set of cooking equipment, as well as sanitary washing facilities. We serve 100% safe food on camping vacations. We guarantee healthy and satisfying cuisine all of the time. Our cooks and support workers are well-trained, so there is no need to be concerned about food safety or hygiene.

Where will we obtain water during the trip?

During your journey, your team will supply you with all of the water you require. We strongly advise against purchasing bottled water while on the route. Plastic bottles are difficult to recycle and have become an environmental issue. We will provide you with enough of well boiled drinking water along the journey. For the trek and tours, a good steel water bottle is required.

What happens if an emergency arises?

Mountain Tours and Travels takes pride in being prepared for any emergency. Our guides are certified in first aid and can treat the majority of common problems that arise during a walk. However, if a significant emergency happens, outside assistance is required. Before visiting Sikkim or other Himalayan regions, each client should have their own insurance. In the event of an emergency, mountain Tours and Travels will cover the expense of an evacuation until your insurance company can pay. We recommend that you bring tiny first aid kits with you for your own protection.

Why should I choose Mountain Tours, Treks, and Travels?

There are numerous explanations for this. In a word, we go out of our way to ensure that you have a pleasant experience and that there is no detrimental impact on the location we are visiting: after all, we live here. And our record of safety is unrivaled.
We provide cutting-edge equipment made specifically for hiking and climbing, as well as vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine, travel arrangements, and dependable, courteous, and experienced staff. We value and implement our clients' recommendations and ideas while organizing exceptional vacations. All of our trekking guides are insured, well-trained, courteous, and trustworthy.
Testimonials and Trip Advisor reviews from some of our satisfied guests may be seen on our website, giving you an idea of the quality of our service.
