Malaysia is a cross between the contemporary world and a developing country. With its investments in high-tech businesses and moderate oil wealth, it has become one of Southeast Asia’s richest countries. Malaysia, for most visitors, is a nice medium: there is high-tech infrastructure, and things generally run well and on time, but prices remain lower than, say, Singapore.
