Overview

Kanyakumari is a coastal town on India’s southernmost tip in the state of Tamil Nadu. The town, which juts into the Laccadive Sea, was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for viewing sunrise and sunset over the ocean. It’s also a popular pilgrimage destination, thanks to the Bagavathi Amman Temple, which is dedicated to Shiva’s consort, and the Our Lady of Ransom Church, which is a centre of Indian Catholicism.
