Coimbatore is a city in Tamil Nadu, a southern Indian state. Marudamalai, a centuries-old Dravidian-style temple, is located to the northwest. Southeast of here is the colourful and intricately carved Arulmigu Patteeswarar Swamy Temple. The Gass Forest Museum in the centre houses a large collection of preserved animals and tree trunks. Singanallur Lake is home to birds and butterflies in the southeast.
