Overview

Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan in India. It pays homage to the royal family that once ruled the region and founded what is now known as the Old City, or “Pink City” for its trademark building colour, in 1727. The opulent, colonnaded City Palace complex stands at the centre of its stately street grid (notable in India). Part of it is still a royal residence, complete with gardens, courtyards, and museums.
