Bikaner is a city in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, east of the Pakistani border. The Thar Desert surrounds it. The city is famous for the Junagarh Fort, a massive complex of ornate buildings and halls built in the 16th century. The Prachina Museum, located within the fort, displays traditional textiles and royal portraits. The nearby Karni Mata Temple is home to many rats revered by Hindu devotees.
