Overview

Imphal is the state capital of Manipur, which is located in northeastern India. Kangla Fort, located on the Imphal River, was once the seat of local rulers and now houses relics. Manipur State Museum, located on the south side of the centuries-old Polo Ground, houses tribal artefacts and a large royal boat. Shri Shri Govindaji Temple, located next to the former Royal Palace, features twin domes, a large hall, and shrines to Hindu gods.
