Bijapur, also known as Vijayapura, is the district headquarters of the Bijapur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It also serves as the administrative centre for the Bijapur Taluk. Bijapur is well known for its architecturally significant historical monuments built during the Adil Shahi dynasty’s reign.
