Surat is a district in the Indian state of Gujarat, with Surat city serving as its administrative centre. It is surrounded by the districts of Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, and east Tapi. The Gulf of Cambay is to the west. It is Gujarat’s second most advanced district.  Surat, situated in the southern part of Gujarat, India, is a bustling city known for its economic prosperity, cultural diversity, and historical landmarks. Covering an area of approximately 106 square miles (275 square kilometers), Surat lies along the banks of the Tapi River, making it an important port city and industrial hub.
