Overview

Udaipur is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan that was formerly the capital of the Mewar Kingdom. It was founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II and is known for its lavish royal residences. It is built around a series of artificial lakes. City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola, is a massive complex of 11 palaces, courtyards, and gardens that is famous for its intricate peacock mosaics.
