Overview

Nagaland is a mountainous state in northeast India that shares a border with Myanmar. It is home to numerous indigenous tribes, with festivals and markets celebrating each tribe’s culture. Its capital city, Kohima, was heavily fought over during WWII, and memorials at the Kohima War Cemetery commemorate this. Ancient weaponry, a ceremonial drum, and other traditional Naga cultural artefacts are on display at the Nagaland State Museum.
