Overview

Patna is an ancient city in Bihar, northeast India, that sprawls along the south bank of the Ganges River. It is the state capital and home to the Bihar Museum, a modern landmark displaying bronze sculptures and old coins from the region. The nearby Indo-Saracenic-style Patna Museum houses a casket thought to contain the Buddha’s ashes. The Golghar, located near the river, is a domed colonial granary with a view of the city.
